Toolbox
The goal of these workshops is to gain practical experience and develop a toolbox that will assist with course projects and beyond. Equally important is learning how to approach something new that is not yet known, so it doesn’t feel intimidating. This greatly enhances the self-learning ability required for the course.
Each workshop will involve a brief to create something that represents an MVP—Minimum Viable Product. These will not be complete games but rather specific features or micro-features. In groups of 2 or 3, participants will have two hours to create this. The focus is not on whether the code is the most beautiful or the design is the most polished, but rather on seeing something functional.
While this may initially seem intimidating, the purpose is to practice in a controlled environment so that similar situations feel less daunting in the future.
Although each workshop will be independent with a different task each time, consistent attendance is important to maximize the benefits.
